  • SNOWTAM Proposals

    Effective 05 October 2023 (AIRAC 10) the UK NOTAM Office (NOF) will take on the role of processing SNOWTAM proposals. From this date SNOWTAM messages shall be submitted by the Aerodrome Operator or ATS Unit using the new address: EUECYIYP. For full details please refer to AIC Y 066/2023.

  • NOTAM proposals

    Please be advised, with effect from 10 Aug 23, NOTAM Proposals via email will no longer be accepted by the UK NOF.

    In support of this, NATS will make available its AFTN NOTAM functionality for free, for all users. This facility will be available via AFPEX June 15th:

  • ICAO Doc 8126 Edition 7 - NOTAM Selection Criteria Update

    As a result of ICAO changes to NOTAM Selection Criteria the European AIS Database (EAD) will update to align with these changes from 11th Aug.

    Whilst the NATS Internet Briefing System retrieves Pre Flight Information Bulletins (PIBs) from EAD there will be no impact to functionality as a result of these changes. However, users who postprocess PIBs may need to be aware of the changes.

    • 47 new NOTAM Code combinations have been introduced (mainly NOTAM Code 4&5 CS - installed)
    • NOTAM Code 2&3 NC (Decca), NO (Omega) and WZ (Model Flying) are withdrawn. Model Flying activities will be issued as WU (Unmanned Aircraft)
    • 191 NOTAM Code combinations have been withdrawn. NOTAM Code 4&5 CN + some others.
    • Purpose ‘B’ will not be used anymore. Purpose combinations used are ‘BO’, ‘NBO’, ‘K’ and ‘M’
    • 187 existing NOTAM Codes have upgraded Purpose (one subject (FIS) also has upgraded Traffic from V to IV)
    • 146 existing NOTAM Codes have downgraded Purpose, all from ‘NBO’ to ‘BO’

  • NOTAM Q Code Change for Paragliding and Hang Gliding Activities

With effect from 01 Mar the UK will implement a change of NOTAM code for Paragliding and Hang Gliding. These activities will now be coded as WG and not WP.

  • HS2 OBSTACLES

Advice to Aerodrome Operators related to High Speed Rail 2 (HS2) or other long-term construction projects within their Safeguarding areas.

For long term cranes notification(s), Aerodrome Operators are suggested to consider the use of AIP Supplements to AD 2.10 in advance to satisfy the notification requirements. For more information please see the NOTAM Guidance available on the AIS website or contact the UK NOTAM Office.

NOTAM REQUEST FORM

The NOTAM Request Form is available for aerodrome sponsors that do not have AFPEx or Copperchase.

NOTAM for unusual aerial activities such as Drones etc are not to be sent direct to the NOTAM office. If your activity is within an aerodrome’s FRZ then please contact them direct, if outside then contact the CAA via arops@caa.co.uk (office hours only).
