This framework facilitates and supports the use and exchange of the digital dataset, enabling air navigation users to evaluate the product and determine if it meets their specific requirements for intended applications.

VFR Obstacles Spreadsheet

The spreadsheet available from this link is designed to provide Obstacle information to be read in association with 1:500,000, 1:250,000 and 1:50,000 scale UK VFR Charts.  Using information supplied by DGC, MOD, the spreadsheet is re-issued every 28 days according to the AIRAC AIP publication cycle. The main purpose of the spreadsheet is to ensure that UK VFR Chart users remain informed of Obstacle information for the life-time of the VFR Chart.

The sheet ALL contains the current list of ENR obstacles that are known to exist above 300ft agl in both the London and Scottish FIRs.  Offshore obstacles above 100ft AMSL are also included in this list.

The sheet WITHDRAWN contains the list of obstacles that have been removed within the last 28 days, i.e. since publication of the previous spreadsheet.

The sheet WITHDRAWN 24 MONTHS contains the list of obstacles that have been removed over the last two years.

The sheet ADDED contains the list of new obstacles that have been established within the last 28 days, i.e. since publication of the previous spreadsheet.

The sheet REVISED contains the list of obstacles that have been changed within the last 28 days, i.e. since publication of the previous spreadsheet.

 

The content of the spreadsheet is mostly self-explanatory, with additional columns inserted to assist the user identify which obstacle affects which Chart.  The term YES indicates that the obstacle is located within the coverage portrayed by the specified VFR chart.

 

By applying filters to the ALL sheet and the WITHDRAWN 24 MONTHS sheet users can create a list of changes after a particular revised date for any particular chart(s) ensuring that their chart(s) can be annotated with the latest obstacle environment.
