Planned Amendments to the NATS AIS Website – 6th February 2025 (Inserted 30/01/2025)

Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) Availability

The AIP is now available in three options from the AIP section of the IBS.

  • Online version
  • Downloadable PDF
  • Downloadable HTML

In addition, the +28 day and +56 day AIPs are available with a downloadable AMDT option

AIP Supplements (SUPs), Aeronautical Information Circulars (AICs), and Briefing Sheets

AIP Supplements, AICs, and Briefing Sheets will no longer be provided on separate pages. Instead, they will be consolidated into a single 'AIP Supplements/AIC/Briefing Sheets' page. Each category will have its own tab within the table, along with various user-friendly options such as filtering by number, title, or section, and the ability to download multiple documents as offline PDFs.

Where applicable, planned versions of AIP Supplements and AICs will also be available in dedicated tabs. These planned documents are not yet in force, and their 'Published as of' date will be displayed in the table.

Briefing Sheets

With the introduction of Briefing Sheets into CAP 1054 V3, AIP Sponsors will now have the ability to request a Briefing Sheet. These can be used when a temporary change, deemed operationally significant, is submitted to AIS and contains extensive text (exceeding 1,800 characters) or graphics, but there is insufficient time to publish an AIRAC AIP Supplement or an AIC. In such cases, a NOTAM will be issued promptly to inform users of the changes and point to the briefing sheet on the IBS.

Briefing Sheets are not managed by AIS and will not be stored as part of the database. The sponsor must provide the Briefing Sheet in accordance with the provided templates, and completed sheets must be submitted to AIS via the Aurora portal during office hours.

AIS will assign a unique reference number to the Briefing Sheet and will provide the sponsor with a web link to the document, which can be used as a reference within the NOTAM.

The sponsor is responsible for raising the NOTAM using their usual proposal method.

The list of current Briefing Sheets will be incorporated into the AIP Supplement/AICs/Briefing Sheet page mentioned above.
