EGBW AD 2.19  RADIO NAVIGATION AND LANDING AIDS

EGBW AD 2.20  LOCAL AERODROME REGULATIONS

1   Airport Regulations
  1. Aerodrome is not available to aircraft unable to communicate by radio.

2   Ground Movement
  1. Runway 05/23 is not available from Fri 1600 (1500) - Sun 0900 (0800), or Tue 0900 (0800) following a PH, due to market.

3   CAT II/III Operations

4   Warnings
  1. The aerodrome is situated 3 nm from the southern boundary of the Birmingham CTA (base 1500 FT) and below the CTA (base 3500 FT). Aircraft within the vicinity of Birmingham CTA are advised to Squawk 0010 and listen out on Birmingham radar 123.980 MHz.

  2. Pilots are warned that departure from the marked manoeuvring area can be hazardous.

  3. Buildings to the east of the aerodrome can cause turbulance and windshear.

  4. Runway edge lights are located at the outer shoulders of the runway and not at the edges of the area declared for use as the runway.

  5. Aircraft should avoid overflying Stratford upon Avon Gliding Club situated 4 NM North West of Wellesbourne. Gliders winch launched to 2400 FT AMSL.

  6. Grass areas, including grass Runway 18/36 are subject to restricted use or closure due to water logging and subsequent soak away, during and following periods of wet weather.

  7. Reduced wingtip clearance in front of main buildings. Aircraft with a wingspan in excess of 15 M to exercise caution.

5   Helicopter Operations
  1. Helicopter arrivals and departures to remain not above 600 FT QFE within the ATZ.

6   Use of Runways
  1. Runways 18/36 (grass) is unlicensed and can only be used if available and by prior arrangement. For details including dimensions/declared distances contact the aerodrome.

  2. Prior to any pilot using the grass strip they must receive a briefing from the FISO/Airport Manager and familiarise themselves with the runway condition including the location of the high intensity runway lighting positioned on the tarmac runway edge and the crops located on the western side of the grass.

  3. Simultaneous operations on Runway 18/36 tarmac and 18/36 grass are not permitted.

7   Training
  1. Aerodrome does not meet criteria for training outside published hours of operation.

  2. Only one non-based aircraft at a time is permitted to operate in the circuit for approaches, booking is essential.

EGBW AD 2.21  NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES

  1. Runway 36 departures: After departure turn right onto a track of 030° to 1000 ft QFE before turning crosswind.

  2. Do not overfly Loxley (1.5 nm southwest) or Charlecote/Hampton Lucy (1 nm north) on departure.

  3. Flying over Wellesbourne Village (1 nm east of the AD) is strictly prohibited below 2000 ft.

EGBW AD 2.22  FLIGHT PROCEDURES

1   Circuits
  1. Circuit directions variable. Circuit height 1000 FT QFE. Helicopters 600 FT QFE.

  2. Helicopter aiming points Whiskey and Echo for circuits, arrivals and departures. (Echo not available Saturdays and Bank Holidays)

  3. No touch-and-go's allowed outside of published hours.

2   Arrivals
  1. Overhead joins preferred.

3  RADIO COMMUNICATION FAILURE PROCEDURES
  1. Standard radio failure procedures apply at Wellesbourne ENR section 1.1, paragraph 3.4.2 refers.

  2. Fixed wing aircraft will join from the overhead at 2000 FT QFE, letting down to circuit height on the dead side, then join downwind at 1000 FT QFE observing any light signals displayed.

  3. Rotary aircraft should arrive from the west and join midpoint downwind at 600 FT AGL for either runway 18RH or runway 36LH and aim for Heli 'W', remaining clear of all runways and final approach paths observing any light signals displayed. From 'W' air taxi to suitable parking away from any fixed-wing aircraft.
